Two Week Spring Break Survey

The School Board is surveying parents and staff about moving to a 2-week Spring Break. The survey was sent home with all students today. Please read through the info provided and respond at the end.  I think the deadline to respond is April 14th (I don’t have a copy of the survey at home.) They need the input from parents and staff before the next Board meeting.

This afternoon is the setup for the Science Fair. The actual Science Fair is actually tomorrow. Please contact the office if you have any questions about the Science Fair.

It was not mandatory for students in the class to enter the Science Fair, but they have been working on their animal research projects and they could be entered as a study.

Fun Fair Volunteers

It’s that time of year again! FUN FAIR! It’s on Friday, April 20. Our class is decorating and manning the Plinko Booth. We need six parent volunteers to work the booth. There are three 1 hour shifts – 5-6 pm, 6-7 pm & 7-8pm. Please complete the form that was sent home if you can work a shift or just email me at kogren@sd85.bc.ca.

The money raised at the Fun Fair helps the PAC pay for the swimming program that all students take part in the Spring. Our class will actually get 2 sessions a week.

Animal Research Projects

Students started an animal research project the week before Spring Break. It is not mandatory to enter the study into the Science Fair next week, but students are encouraged to, if they choose. Students will present their information in the form of a poster, Science Fair backboard or Power Point to the class.

Science Fair is next week on Thursday, April 5th. The date did sneak up on us a little. I thought that we had an extra week and didn’t account for the 3 days off due to Easter and the Inservice Day. The actual project is due Monday, April 9th, if the student does not want to enter the Science Fair. We will be presenting the projects the week of April 9th-13th.
