This is just a reminder that the coffee orders for Camp Homewood are due next week on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The coffee must be prepaid for the order to go through. Orders need to be in on time, so that the coffee can be roasted.
I will be picking up the coffee on Sunday, Nov. 5th in Campbell River, that saves the students the shipping costs so they make $6 per bag instead of $5.
Photo Order forms were sent home today. Photo Day is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 23.
Our class will be starting recorders this week or early next. Many students hopefully still have their recorder they purchased last year. Please remind you child to bring their recorder to school.
There are some extra recorders that the school owns, but the students will not be able to take them home as they are shared between classes. (Yes, they are washed between classes! YUCK!)

Cross Country Running practices started today. They will be every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch. Students will take their lunch and meet in the gym. Students will run first and eat when they return to the school.
The Cross Country Meet is being held in Sointula on Wednesday, October 25th. Permission forms for the meet will be sent home closer to the date.
Notices were sent home with the students that indicated they were interested in trying out. Students must attend practices to be selected for the team that goes to Sointula.
With the changes to the classrooms, we are allowing all the students that were elected to student council last week to continue. Our class has 5 reps: Sienna, Sam & Rhys for the grade 5’s and Chelsie and Anthony for the grade 4’s.
Meetings will be held every Thursday right at the lunch bell. Students will bring their lunches to the meeting and hopefully there will be some time after the meeting to head outside and get some fresh air before the 12:55 pm bell.
I have to apologize, I forgot to hand out the noticed that talked about the class changes that occurred on Friday. They will come home today. I believe the parents of the students that moved classes were contacted by the office Thursday evening.
Our class is now a 4/5 split, with about a 50/50 split. The reconfiguration had to occur due to the fact that Sunset has 18 less students than was projected in the Spring.

Sunset students elected their main Student Council for this year. Congratulations to Gage, Garrett, Jasmine, William and Ethan. Each class needs to now elect two representatives to the Student Council.
In our class they will vote for one boy and one girl. All the students that want to be class rep will give a short speech on why they would be a good choice Tuesday at 1:30 pm, in class. We will vote right after the speeches.
Student Council meetings will occur every Thursday in Mrs. Brooks LART room. Mrs. Brooks and Mr. Ogren are the teacher sponsors this year.
