Mr. Ogren's Music Class

All of the students completed some beautiful artwork with Mrs. McCormick and Mrs. Ellis for Sunset’s first ever First Nations Art Gala. The doors open at 6:45 pm. Everyone is invited! The gym is filled with amazing art from every student at Sunset.

The photographer will be at the school Thrusday, May 26 @ 10:15 am to take a photo of the whole school. If you would like to purchase a copy of the photo they will be $10. There was an order form (Camp Homewood students do not have a copy yet, they will get it Wednesday).

Our swimming lessons start tomorrow, Wednesday May 25. We will be walking to the pool for the last hour of the day. I will dismiss students from the pool, unless they take the bus, we will walk back to school.

Please remember your swimsuit and towel!

You also need to return your signed permission form, if you have not done so – which is most of the Grade 5’s that just received the form getting off the Camp Homewood bus Friday.

Swimming permission forms should be coming home today. Our first swimming day is next Wednesday, which is the first day back after the 4 day long weekend. I will post reminders and get students to write it in their planners.

Our class’ swimming schedule is every Monday & Wednesday at the end of the day. (They will also have an extra swim period next Friday to make up for the Monday they miss due to Victoria Day.) I will be dismissing the students from the pool.  I will ask bus students to get out a little early to make sure they are back to the school in time to catch the bus.

If your child is at Camp Homewood this week, they will receive the permission form as they get off the bus Friday.

You can still bring in your hot dog order and money Thursday morning.

Sunset school will be starting our annual swimming lessons next week! Our class is scheduled for two lessons a week (all grade 5’s get two lessons, luckily the whole class gets to go.) Our times are usually Monday & Wednesday right at the end of the day. I will dismiss students from the pool. There are a couple extra make-up days, I will post them as soon as they are confirmed. The permission forms will be coming home tomorrow or Thursday. If your child is at Camp Homewood, I will try to hand them out as they get off the bus Friday when they return to school.

Thursday letter home 2016

Our class will be walking to Cheslakees for our weekly Buddy Time. We will be walking to the forest across from Petro after meeting up with our buddies.  The grade 5/6’s will be helping the Kindergarten students create fairy houses. I will try and post photos on the weekend.

The weather looks awesome! Please remember to wear good walking shoes that can go into the forest.
