Old Magazines & Calendars
The class is going to be working on drawing in Art for the unit. One of the upcoming projects is 1/2 & 1/2 pictures, where the students will take a picture from a magazine or calendar and cut it in half and draw in the missing half.
Pictures of animals are awesome, but others, such as people, vehicles, buildings, etc. also work.

BC Hydro “Think Ahead” Parent Challenge
The students should have brought home a poster from BC Hydro called “Think Ahead.” The class has been working through an electricity unit provided by BC Hydro. We have been studying simple circuits. Today the class worked through a group activity where they looked at various pieces of the poster that came home and discussed the potential dangers around electricity and safety plans to avoid these dangers.
Can you please ask your child to share 3-5 dangers and possible safety plans to stay safe around electricity? I know the poster asks for parents to find them, but I did ask students to share what they discovered first.
Please try to find 3-5 that could possibly directly relate to your family. There will be a writing activity in class that will ask the students to do this Thursday.
