Great day on the Water!

The class had a spectacular day paddling the traditional First Nations Canoes! Thank you to Calvin Hunt for loaning the canoes and thank you to Mrs. Ellis for getting the ball rolling on this incredible event. I’m hoping this can become an annual event.

I will post later today, I forgot my laptop at home that has my photo editing software. I have tons of great pictures from the day.

We need to create lists of students that will be paddling the First Nations Canoes Thursday. We need all forms signed. Mr. Kaleb Child introduced the children to the names of the 5 canoes that will be part of the canoe day. One of the canoes arrived at the school today.

This canoe normally has 18 pullers! It is over 50 feet long!

If there are Students without signed forms, they will still walk down with the class and watch and join in the lunch, but they will not be allowed in the canoes.

Don’t Forget Swimsuits & Towels Wednesday!

Swimming starts tomorrow, Wednesday! Don’t forget your swimsuit & towel.

We swim every Wednesday from 11:00 am – 11:40 am. We will be leaving the school right after recess. I recommend if students can wear their swimsuits under their clothes in the morning that will speed up the process of getting into the pool, as we only have 15 minutes to walk there and get changed.

Permission Forms Reminder

It’s that time a year again – Field Trip Permission Form Season! There are currently two very important forms that need to be signed and returned.

1. The first is for swimming. About half of the students have returned this form. The class starts swimming Wednesday, so please remember to return the form before then.

2. The second form is for the Canoe Day, Thursday, May 21. Please have these forms returned by Wednesday, we need these before Thursday to calculate how many students will be going in the canoes (hopefully everyone!) This is longer permission form that also requires an initial at every paragraph. I wanted to point out again that the canoes are the very large traditional First Nations canoes, which hold 20-30 people, not the small 2-3 person canoes.
