Mr. Ogren's Music Class

All the students from Sunset have been invited to take part in a First Nations Canoe trip next Thursday, May 21st. They will be taking part in paddling one of four large First Nations traditional canoes.

This is designated as a high risk activity, due to the nature of being on the water. There will a parent meeting tomorrow night, Thursday, May 14 @ 7:00 pm in the Sunset Library to discuss the nature of the high-risk permission form. This will also be a great chance to have any questions or concerns answered.

List A- “tch” Words: catch, match, patch, scratch, kitchen, butcher, watch, crutch

List B- “er” Words: silver, clever, tiger, spider, driver, under, another, ladder, letter, better

Challenge Words: Victoria, multiplication, average  (List A must do the challenge words this week because they only have 8 words.)

Assignments Due & Test Friday.

There is no school today. Teachers are working on a variety of professional development activities. We are looking at a variety of reading assessments, student-led inquiry and sharing various activities we have been trying in class.

If you made a DeVry plant order, they are in!! Please come down to the school. The orders are set up in the gym.

This is just a reminder that the Spelling Test and Assignments are due tomorrow because of the Pro-D Day Friday.

I have posted a new photo page above of a variety of photos from the Bike Rodeo. The students behaved extremely well and had lots of  fun. Thanks again to all the volunteers that came out to help, including the RCMP.

The Talent Show was supposed to be this Thursday. Student Council has decided to postpone for a few weeks. I will post the new date as soon as it is decided.

The bike rodeo is Tuesday, May 5th. All students that want to take part MUST WEAR HELMETS! If you cannot get your bike here, you may borrow a friends bike, but please bring your own helmet.

The Bike Shed will be here to check over everyone’s bikes. The RCMP will also be talking about bicycle safety and rules of the road.

Any parent volunteers would be greatly appreciated!! Please stop by or call the office to let them know that you can help.
