Art Lessons

Many students wrote “Art Lessons” in their planners, but did not take a handout. There is a lady that is offering Art Lessons on Wednesdays after school at the Old School House. The cost is $100 for the six lessons. I believe the lessons start today. They run from 3:30 – 5:00 pm.

Kindergarten Buddies

This Friday the students will be starting to take part in Kindergarten Buddies. Every other Friday, weather permitting, the class will walk over to Cheslakees to buddy with Mrs. Wadhams’ Kindergarten class. We will help the little kids with their reading, writing and a variety of other activities. This activity will give the grade 5 students a chance to be positive role models to the younger students and help transition them to Sunset School.

We will leave the school around 1:30 pm and return before the 3:00 pm dismissal bell. Students will be reminded to write in their planners on the Wednesday or Thursday the weeks we are going.  It will also be posted on www.mrogren.com.

If you have any questions, please contact me at school @ 250-956-4434 or email kogren@sd85.bc.ca.

Thanks,

Mr. Ogren

Students’ Council Speeches Wednesday

It’s that time of year again! Students’ Council Elections! Any students that want to run for the main student council must give a speech in the gym tomorrow (Wednesday) at lunch. Elections will be held in the afternoon from class to class. There were a number of students in our class that were interested in running. They have had some time to work on a speech and make posters, they are allowed to put up two each.

Students can also run for class rep next week. They will be asked to make a speech in front of the class Tuesday afternoon and then the class will vote for one boy and one girl to represent the class on the council.

Students that are elected are expected to attend all meetings, which will most likely be held on Thursdays at lunch.
