Mr. Ogren's Music Class

I have decided to postpone the walking field trip to the Post Office and Subway until next week (weather permitting). When I planned this activity I did not realize that the student council would be hosting a mustache day and Sloppy Joes. I did not want to add another cost activity this week, so we will go next week. I will post an update and sent a note home in the planners when we re-schedule the date.

It’s Sloppy Joe Day Friday, but the orders are due Wednesday to make sure there is enough food. The $4 includes the Sloppy Joes and a drink (juice or chocolate milk).

I have to apologize to everyone that liked to use Spelling City. I did not realize that I had turned off the units from the past few weeks. I have turned units 1-7 back on and they should be working. The students can use this site to practice their weekly spelling words with games and tests.

The class will be walking to the Post Office this Thursday, Nov. 27 to mail our letters to a famous person. Every child has written a letter to someone famous of their choice. You never know, some may even get an autograph back (no guarantees).

We will be stopping at Subway on our way back around 11:30 am. Students can bring some money to order a kid’s meal. Students can also bring a bag lunch, if they prefer.

The student council is hosting a Sloppy Joe Day this Friday. The cost is $4. Orders are due Wedensday.  There should be a note in their planners Monday.

Assignments due and Test Friday!

I forgot to mention to students that I will be performing a free magic show at the Thunderbird Mall in Port Hardy Saturday at 11:00 am.

There will also be a craft bazaar, Santa’s arriving at 1:00 pm and the North Island Community Band is playing at 4:30 pm, plus lots of other fun events.

The Grade 7 students are selling tickets for their annual gift basket raffle. Tickets are $1 and are on sale at lunch in front of the office.

The school received a report of a cougar sighting near the school approximately 20 minutes ago. We are asking that no students walk home today (Thursday, Nov. 20). Students will be trying to call home.
