Mr. Ogren's Music Class

The PAC is hosting the Sunset Fun Fair next Friday, April 25. A notice should have come home last week. We are still looking for more volunteers to help man the booths and bake cakes. If you are able to help please return the notice signed. If you did not receive the notice, just send a note with your child indicating if you can help with the booth (we’re doing the Hockey Shoot!) and if and how many cakes you can make for the Cake Walk. Thanks.

This is just a reminder that students only have until Thursday to complete the Spelling assignments this week, due to Good Friday being an school holiday.

The Student Council is once again hosting the annual Sunset Has Talent Show, Wednesday, April 16 @ 9:00 am. The students will be heading down to the gym just after attendance in the morning. Parents and family are invited to come and watch their children perform. There are approximately 25 acts to perform, including a couple surprise performances!

There was a total lunar eclipse Monday night. It started around 10:30’ish, with a total eclipse at approximately midnight. A lunar eclipse is the earth is between the moon and the sun. It will be a total lunar eclipse, also known as a blood moon, as the moon will turn red as it passes into the shadow of the earth.

You can also see Mars quite well with the naked eye. It is the bright, reddish star-like object above the moon.

Student-Led Conferences are running today and tomorrow (April 14 & 15), so there will be early dismissals both days at 2:00 pm. The schedule is posted above, just click the link. If you do not have a scheduled time, I have not received the form yet from your child. Please choose one of the times available, send me an email or call the call the school and I’ll book you in.

I was away from the class today and will be away again tomorrow. I have caught the latest cold/flu and have lost my voice. I could hardly talk in class Tuesday, so I booked Wednesday off. My voice has not come back yet, so I will also be away Thursday. I’m hoping that I can return Friday.

Please remind your child to return the Student-Led Conference forms by Friday, so I can send home the confirmed times Friday. I should be able to accommodate most first choices, as the student-led conferences have multiple families in at once.

I have to apologize, I have the wrong dates on the sign up form. I used last year’s form and forgot to change the dates. The two days are April 14 & 15. Sorry for the confusion.
