I forgot to post the Spelling Words at school and I do not have the lists at home. I will post them tomorrow.

There is no Unit 30.

I did activate the Spelling City for Unit 31, so you can check the words there.

Many students have asked if they can bring their pets to school to share. I just wanted to take this opportunity to let parents know that it is okay and the basic rules are a parent must bring the pet to the school, their child will get a chance to introduce and share their pet and then the parent can take the animal home.

I also ask that you give me a day heads up to make sure their are no other pets coming that day.  You can call me at school, email (kogren@sd85.bc.ca) or write in your child’s planner and remind them to ask me.

2. Grade 7 Garage & Bake Sale in the Sunset Gym Saturday during the Mud Bowl Hours.

There is an important notice on the teachers’ job action starting tomorrow, Wed. April 23. At the moment it is Phase 1, which is teachers removing themselves from non-essential serves, such as playground duty and staff meetings. Phase 1 does not affect regular classroom activities, reporting/communicating with parents or extra-curricular activities.

There are some changes to bus schedules, please see notice coming home today. In most cases the bus will be picking up students slightly later in the morning.

This Thursday is Hot Dog Day!

$2 for hot dog & $1 for juice or chocolate milk

The latest book orders went out today and are due next Wednesday,April 30.

Assignments due and Test Friday

I have to apologize for a mix-up last week. I left TOC notes when I was away for a meeting on Thursday. I told the TOC that the test was for Spelling Unit 27 and in fact it was for Unit  28, so he gave the wrong spelling test. That was totally my fault, sorry for the confusion.

I have to apologize, I forgot to hand out two notices this afternoon. I will send them home Tuesday.

The first was a reminder that the PAC Fun Fair is next Friday, April 25 from 5-8pm and they are still looking for volunteers to run the booths.

The second notice was to let people know the grade 7 class is hosting a Garage & Bake Sale Saturday, April 26th from 10 am – 4 pm at the school. It will be the same time as the Mudbowl, so you can shop between games! They are also looking for donations for the garage sale. They can be dropped off at Mrs. Purdey’s room during school hours.

I hope that everyone has a fun and relaxing Easter long weekend. Safe travels for all venturing out of the north island.
