Christmas Concert Thursday @ 7:00pm

The Christmas Concert is quickly approaching. Students are asked to be in their classes by 6:45 pm to get ready. The concert starts at 7:00 pm. Our will be in three songs right at the start and two more at the end.

Homework: Read and practice the words to the concert songs!  They are posted in a post from earlier this week.

Our class are reindeer and are asked to dress in as much brown as possible.

There will be a full dress rehearsal Thursday at 10:45 am.

Christmas Spelling Unit

List A: All 16 Words, List B first 8 (bold) & 2 Challenge

elf, snowman, December, snowflake, family, presents, sleigh, naughty

chimney, reindeer, holiday, Santa Claus, stocking, icicle

Challenge: decorations, Christmas

ASSIGNMENTS:

     1. Write a Christmas story using at least 10 of the list words. Remember to UNDERLINE the list words.  (8 words for the B list).

      2. Write all the list words in alphabetical order.

      3. Complete the word search and double puzzle handout.

      4. Write an acrostic poem using one of the list words.

      5. How many words (minimum of 3 letters) can you create from the letters in “MERRY CHRISTMAS?”

      6. Using the graph paper provided, create your own word search using all the list words. Trade puzzles with a friend and solve each other’s puzzles. Record the name of the person that solved your puzzle on the sheet.

Walking to Cheslakees Tuesday

THe class will be walking to Cheslakees Tuesday. We will be eating our lunch over there, so please bring a packable lunch as we will be leaving the school just before lunch.

Concert Costume Update

The Christmas concert is officially one week away. Our class are reindeer and the organizers have asked that the students dress in as much brown clothing as possible next Thursday evening. We will be making antlers in class next week.

School Dance Friday

The Student Council is hosting two Christmas dances Friday. The grades 1-4 are invited to take part during lunch from 12:20-12:50, after they eat their lunch in the classroom.

The grade 5-7 students will have a dance from 1:30-2:50. Normally the dances are after school, but they are earlier to accommodate the nutcracker dance recital.

**Since it’s Unit 13 and the test is on Friday the 13th – I figured Superstition was an appropriate Challenge Word! LOL!

Report Cards out Today!

Report cards will be sent home Friday after school. Please sign the blue (grade 3) or tan (grade 4) cards and return with the envelope. You may keep the comments page for grade 3&4 and letter grade page for grade 4 (only grade 4 students receive letter grades).
