D.E.A.R – Drop Everything And Read Day – Monday, Oct. 28.

The whole school will be participating in 45 minutes of reading Monday afternoon from 1:00-1:45 pm. They can also wear their pajamas and bring a stuffy. This is happening all across Canada.

I have started to create a schedule for the parent/teacher conference. I have tried to place people within their three choices, there are a couple that were one time period earlier or one later. If your child’s name is not on the list, I have not received your form yet. Please look at the available times and choose one. Please confirm with me before you come to make sure the time is still available. I will try updating the  schedule as soon as changes occur.

Hot Dogs – $2

Milk & Juice $1

We will be at Cheslakees during lunch, so I will deliver the hot dog orders there.

The class will be spending a good portion of the day at Cheslakees Thursday. we will be taking part in a variety of outdoor activities with our buddies, so please dress for spending the day outside. The class will be walking over at 10:00 and not returning until the end of the day.

It is hot dog day – they will be delivered to Cheslakees.

Parent-teacher conferences are quickly approaching. They are Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29. There will be early dismissals both days at 2:00 pm.

The conferences are 15 minutes each. This is an informal reporting period and I will be focusing on the students’ behaviour and works habits. The conference time is fairly short to accommodate 24 families. If you would like a longer time we can set up another appointment at a later date.

A sign up sheet was sent home today. Please indicate your top three choices. I will try and accommodate as best I can. Please return the forms by Wednesday, October 23.  That will give me some time to correlate the requests and send out the confirmed times Thursday.

Monday will be the evening sessions.

It is student photo day Tuesday. Please remember to bring your photo package order forms. I believe we’ll be having our photos between recess and lunch.

If your child is away for photo day, retakes will occur in a month or two.

List A: “y= “e” sound” – hurry, marry, pretty, plenty, family, carry, berry, sorry, busy, only

List B: “arm” – arm, farm, farmer, dark, park, bark, market, cart, dart, start

I forgot to circle the assignments for the “List B” – the required numbers are: #1,2,3,5,6,8. I have also changed List A to circle # 2 and make #6 a challenge.

The Test & Assignments are Due THURSDAY, because of the Pro-D day Friday.

The school lockdown was lifted Wednesday at 3:00. If you have any concerns or questions please call the school.

There was cougar safety notice that came home Tuesday. I reviewed the information with students, but please read through again at home as reading homework.
