Mr. Ogren's Music Class

The spelling test is Friday. The assignments for Unit 2 is also due tomorrow. Just complete the numbers that are circled, if there is a star around the number those ones are for extra challenge.

The students were working on a Terry Fox reading assignment this morning. The question sheet is due Friday.

The Terry Fox Run is today (Thursday) at 1:00 pm.

Our class is also having a Rent-A-Gorilla day in class. For a minimum donation of $1 the students can rent a gorilla stuffy for their desk for the day. It was Terry Fox’s dream that every Canadian would donate $1. All the money raised from Rent-A-Gorilla goes to the Terry Fox Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.

So far, our class has raised over $60!

Assignments Due Friday & Test Friday.

The Tour de Rock riders will be at Sunset first thing Monday morning. This year the students will be riding with them for a short portion. To take part, remember to return the signed permission form and bring your bike and helmet. No students will be allowed to take part in the ride or rodeo without a helmet.

Our time for the bike rodeo is 1:00-1:20pm Monday afternoon. The bike rodeo, with the help the RCMP, is to help develop bike and street safety. Teaching students about stop signs and other rules of the road.

I showed the students a couple different websites to help learn the weekly spelling words (www.spellingcity.com- you can click the link in the blogroll section to go straight to our class’ lists) and http://www.multiplication.com, which has a variety of math games to practice the multiplication facts. The site also has addition and subtraction games.

Grade 3 list: face, race, place, ate, late, gate, state, cave, wave, gave, brave

Grade 4 list: rake, awake, snake, sale, tale, lane, became, plate, skate, chase, plane, airplane

You can go to Spelling City on the link under the Blogroll to play some games and try testing yourself with the list words.  On Spelling City list is the grade 4 list and list B is the Grade 3 list.

Tuesday, September 17 is Meet the Teacher night at Sunset School. It starts at 6:00 pm in the gym.
