Mr. Ogren's Music Class

Our first day of swimming lessons is today. We swim from 2:20-3:00 every Tuesday afternoon. I will be dismissing students from the pool. If your child rides the bus, I will ask that they get changed 10 minutes early to make sure they get back up for the bus.

We also swim on Thursday morning right before lunch. There is a slight schedule change for the last two weeks of lessons. A  schedule should have come home with the permission forms.

If the pool sets up the after school twoonie swim program again, students can bring $2 and just stay at the pool.

The students will be completing a Heritage Project for Social Studies this term. They begin by completing a family tree (try to go back to Great Grandparents if you can). Please list countries or cultures of origin.

1. Family Tree outline Due Friday. (based on handout from Student-Led Conference)

2. Choose a country or culture to study by Friday. We will have some research time with the Librarian Friday to begin researching the country in the computer lab.

There will be an early dismissal for all students tomorrow, Tuesday, May 8th @ 2:00 pm. This is to help accommodate the Student-Led Conferences.

If you need to change your time, you can pick any other time. The schedule can have up to 4 families at the same time, as it is the students that lead the conference. The teachers are present if you have any questions.

We have highlighted the assigned times for the Student- Led Conferences. Everyone that returned the form was given their first choice.

1. Coffee Orders are in! Please pick them up from the office
2. The Walk-a-thon is this Wednesday, so make sure you get all your pledges before then.
3. Walk-a-thon money is due Thursday, so we can calculate the amount owing.
4. The Remainder of the Camp Homewood total is DUE MONDAY 7th.

The students have one more day to bring in items for the Spring Raffle Basket. Wednesday is the Deadline!

The latest round of Hot Dog Days is this Friday. Orders are due tomorrow, Wednesday.

Mrs. Snowden is organizing a Spring Basket Raffle the grade 5 Camp Homewood trip. The proceeds of the raffle will be evenly distributed to all students that donate items and/or volunteer to sell tickets at recess and lunch.
