The Student Council is hosting another Sloppy Joe Lunch fundraiser this Wednesday. Order forms went out last Friday. It’s only $4 for a Sloppy Joe & a drink (Juice or Chocolate Milk).

Math Homework

There has been no math homework this week because we have been using our math time to practice/review for the FSA exam. The students were practicing on the field tests online and we have also been working through the questions as a class.

Online Practice FSA Exams

The grade 4’s will be completing the government mandated exam called the FSA (Foundation Skills Assessment) during the first couple weeks of February. There are two basic components to the test: Numeracy and Literacy (Reading comprehension and writing). We have been practicing a little in class. Two parts of the exam are totally online. There are practice versions online. Click the link below to try the practice exams:

You need to click on School District first (Vancouver Island North 85), then click the test you would like to try. The class has attempted both, but the students could use some extra practice.

Popcorn Sale at Lunch Friday $1

There are a numbers students that have been reading the novel Hatchet.  Mr. Walker has purchased the movie Call of the Wild which is based on the novel. The Student Council has decided to show the movie in the gym at lunch today and tomorrow. Student Council will be selling popcorn for $1 during the movie on Friday.

Walking to Cheslakees Friday

The class will be walking to Cheslakees Friday afternoon, please dress appropriately. The weather report is for a nicer day than Thursday, but please come prepared for rain. (If the weather is as bad as Thursday, we will cancel the activity.)
