Mr. Ogren's Music Class

A parent came to talk to me about a website that some of the students are visiting called moviestarplanet.com.  The website allows someone to setup an account for free without an email address. There is a chat portion to the website and there is no way to truly know who the other person is.  There have been some inappropriate messages sent. I will be asking the school’s liaison RCMP Officer to come into the class to speak about cyberbullying and internet safety.  I have also spoken with Mr. Gray and a message about the site and internet safety will be in the newsletter coming next week.

The site will not be allowed at school. Students caught using it at school will have their internet privileges revoked.

Everyone is encouraged to wear “PINK” for anti-bullying day Wednesday.

This is just a reminder, if there is still snow on the ground Tuesday, can students please bring a set of dry clothes to change into after recess and lunch. Many students had to call home Monday.

Assignments Due & Test Friday

This is a reminder that there will be no school Friday. The Vancouver Island Teachers’ Association is hosting our annual District Professional Development Day. This is a day where all the teachers and support staff from the north island schools meet at a central location (this year is at NISS) to take part in a keynote, various workshops and professional networking.

Wow! Every student finished the Science assignment in class today! I guess the bride of some laptop time at the end of the day really works!

The is no school Friday, so don’t to study for the Spelling Test Thursday. The Spelling assignment is also due Thursday.
