The students were working on an adding & subtracting decimals worksheet that was on graph paper to help them line up the decimals. Some finished within the class, if not they should have brought it home in their planners.

You can click the link above to see the confirmed times that have been booked in so far. I will try to accommodate everyone’s first choice if possible. I’m filling the times on a first returned, first booked. I can book up to 4 families per time slot, as the conference is being led by the students. If your child has not brought their form home just pick your top two times that have less than 4 families and write it in their planner or on a note.

Student-Led Conference Sign-up sheets were sent home today. Please complete and return by Thursday. The conferences will take place next week on Monday & Tuesday.

1. There were a number of forms that came home today for those students/parents that were not able to make the meeting last Thursday. Please sign all the forms and return as soon as possible. The waiver from the School District MUST be witnessed by a non-family member. If you are having trouble finding someone, just bring it to school and I can sign it, but I must witness you signing it.
2. WALK-A-THON! The last fundraiser is next Wednesday, May4th, it’s the Walk-A-Thon. It will happen at the NISS track after school. The students will walk 5 kms – approx. 15 laps. ALL the money raised will go directly to their $300 total.
3. The dollar amount left to pay (up to $300) is written at the top of the Camp Homewood Supply for each student. This does not include the DeVry plant order money yet, so if you put in an order the amount will be less.

A notice looking for volunteers for the Jump Rope for Heart event next Thursday was also sent out Friday. Mrs. Fletcher is organizing the all day event in the gym and needs some adult helpers.

The Grade 5 Camp Homewood Trip is quickly approaching – May 16-20!

A Camp Homewood notice was also sent out Friday for the Grade 5’s.  There are two important pieces of information on the notice. The first is to indicate if a parent would like to be a chaperone. We will need a balance of Moms & Dads. We will also need enough time to make sure that everyone can get their criminal record searches completed (they are mandatory for all chaperones.)

The second item on the notice is to let parents know that there will be an information meeting this Thursday, April 21 at 5:30 pm in the Library. We will hopefully have the totals for remaining costs per students, permission forms, and basic Camp Homewood information.

There will be one more fundraiser for the trip. We will be having a Walk-a-Thon. The date TBD. Most likely during the first week of May.

The latest round of Book Orders were sent out Friday. Mrs. Plumridge needs them returned by Tuesday morning. She cannot accommodate late ones this time, as she leaving for a week Tuesday evening after she puts the order in.
